[Tch. What a prat. Ah well, Fred shoves his device in his pocket and just under ten minutes later, is standing outside Ron's flat.]

Oi! At least make it a challenge next time!

[He learned from the best. Ron's already there, hands in his pockets and wearing an amused smirk.]

Figured you could use a bit of a break for a moment.

[Smirking, eh? There's a sight for sore eyes.]

How ever so considerate of you. [He is amused though.] So, what's the urgency?

Reckon you'll find out, won't you? [He is slightly amused, okay.] Do you want to go in?

You haven't booby trapped the place with Stink Sap or some such, have you?

[He's wary, okay. Joking and teasing, but still wary. What are you up to, Ronald Weasley?]

Do you honestly think Herione'd go for something like that?

Ah, yeah. How could I've forgotten the happy couple?

[Side tracking! Because he has to check in on his favourite couple.]

How're you lot doing? Nothing outside the healthy row every now and again, I hope?

[Ron turns a faint pink, shrugging as he jerked his head to head in.]

All right, I reckon. And I'll have you know we haven't had a row in a week or so. [Minor tiffs, but they liked fighting. Really.]

[Following with all the grins.]

[Casting a glare, Ron rolled his eyes.]

We've gone for longer. [Shrugging, he unlocks the door when they arrive there and glances back.]

I've something for you, be just a moment. Er, take a set. Just don't blow something up.

[And he's off. Welp, you're welcome to come in, Fred.]

[Something for him? Now that's odd. No promises on the not-blowing-stuff-up, but genuine surprise and curiosity keep him from breaking anything in the very least. Instead, he just follows him inside and takes a look around at everything while waiting for Ron to return.]

[Welp, Fred can definitely hear movement in the other room.] Oh--bloody hell, I'd just had it. Don't tell me Hermione's gone and---Aha! [A clatter of something but he walks out with a good sized box in his hands.]

[Shrugging lamely he tossed the box to Fred unceremoniously.]

Go on and open it.

[Inside will be all the items he used for demonstrations: one or two wetstart firecrackers, decoy detonators, skiving snackboxes, extendable ears, all the bits and bobs he had stuffed in his pockets before getting here (his bag, too, since he'd packed one to go visit hermione).]

[Fred hasn't even touched anything and it still sounds as though the place is coming down. What exactly had Ron gotten him? He catches the box with every bit of intrigue he's got to his name, contemplating it for only a moment before opening it.

It's a damn miracle he doesn't drop it from surprise. He doesn't look back up to Ron, but covers his mouth with one hand while staring in awe and wonder and yearning and a bucketload of other emotions he doesn't want to even touch before shaking his head.]

Bloody Hell, Ronald. How in Merlin's name-?

[But that's pretty much all he's got right now. You've sufficiently rendered him speechless.]

[Not watching his brother, Ron went to plop down on the couch before glancing him a look. He hadn't known what to expect when he gave it to Fred, so he just shrugged.]

They were on me when I got here. Figured you could use them more.

[He cleared his throat.] Hoped they'd give you ideas for when we start doing this the muggle way. [...subtle, ron.]

[He still marveling at the lot when he says that last bit, and something simultaneously runs cold through his veins and has his heart leaping.]

What? You mean, like. The store? Here?

[Ron swallows.] No. I meant a bakery. Of course it's the store, you prat.

[He glanced at his brother before looking away.] Already asked the lot what they'd like to see and how Muggles would go about it. Figure it can't be so hard. Few of the ideas were decent, too, reckon it'd be a good start. [A pause. Briefly. He's doing this for you Fred.] Course that all depends on you.

Hermione said she'd help, too.

[Bloody Hell. He's been doing all this without his knowing?]

Sneaky little bugger, aren't you? [A small, very small laugh.] 's brilliant, Ron, really. I can even use these to break down for materials and use as templates.

[Yeah, he's already formulating plans and thinking of what they'll be needing, but his eyes are so not focused on the contents of the box. They're worlds away, in an explosively lively store with people whose voices he may never hear again, or at home with people he'll never be able to slip a Ton-Tongue to again. Distant planets, but they're more like memories cuz that's all they're allowed to be anymore. He laughs.]

This is spectacular.

Learned from the best. [He bites back a smirk before glancing at his brother curiously.] How's that? We've hardly our magic let alone the creatures you two made those from.

[Still, he relaxes and tries to release all pangs roiling his stomach. He had been afraid of how his brother would response, but it didn't seem all too bad right now. So he clears his throat.]

Hoped you would think as much.

's all about replication. Alchemy's not purely magic, you know, there's a sort of science to it.

[Muggle science! Should be exciting to tinker with, in the very least. If only Dad were here to see. If only George were here to help, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms. Fred grins, a sort of shade of his normal exuberance, and gives Ron a rare gift of his own.]
