Harry Potter and the Inevitable Future

Always a specky little prat, a rare and fortuitous day had Harry Potter manning up and pulling the twig out of his arse to tie the knot with one Ginevra Weasley. It was horribly awkward, and the two of them popped out thirty-seven nippers and lived happily ever after.

[ She has no idea what Fred is thinking, of course, but she doesn't think it's much more than that. Of course, she's not sure what to think about some of the other things George has done, either -- an arc-boutant is really not that gorgeous if you're not an architect, so was he talking about her? When she asked him to give her something else to sketch, why was his answer the house she grew up in? She doesn't know, and she's trying not to think on it too much. ]

Harry can add it to the bonfire.

[Both easily explained away. George may not be the most romantic of people outwardly but Fred's always known relationships mean more to his brother than they ever have to him. If he's asking after the house she grew up in, he wants to know more about her and her family and the type of life she's lived. He's interested, which is rare when they're usually just looking for fun. Fred's got an eye on the two of you, Aria.]

Not often. I think technically we can have up to eight at a time. Like octopuses. But mostly you're only going to find two at most.

Honestly, I think it's better that way. Don't you think it's a little creepy that you had to fight over your mum's tits? 'Cause unless I'm missing something big, your little sister looks like she's only got the same amount as a regular person.

[ It would be helpful, of course, if someone would fill her in on that. What she knows is a hand sliding up her back, being informed that he's not looking for anything more than "this", and despite any evidence to the contrary, she's keeping that in the front of her mind. It's tied up with warnings about reality, about dreams and projections, and if she closes her eyes she can see Mal Cobb in a ruined hotel room asking her that all-important question.

[And make things easy on you? Not a chance. It's not like they know what they want - George probably doesn't even realise that he fancies her quite so much. Living in the middle of a war doesn't quite leave time for forming steadfast relationships when you never know if they'll be Snatched the next day, or if you'll finally be caught by one of the Death Eaters in their search for the Chosen One. They've got some growing up to do.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that, aye? Should hope you haven't got to be reduced to troll-hood.

[ If there's one thing Ariadne hates, it's not knowing. She knows there are things they're not telling her; her conversation with Harry and with George before that was enough to clue her in on that. She doesn't mind that quite so much (yet) as not knowing where she stands, though. ]

If it happens twice in under a month when it hasn't happened once in twenty-three years up until now, I'm calling it a curse.

Flynn and Garrett, then. I'd suggest Ffionn to keep up with the Welshness in the family, but I can't think of a G-counterpart.

[The list of Things We Do Not Talk About is a long one, Ariadne. We may never get through to them all - there's loads of not knowing to be had.]

They seem to be the City's specialty, so I'd say it's a fair assessment. The trick of the matter is escaping the curse. You probably ought to avoid open flames for awhile.

There's always Gawaine, but if we're aiming to get creative, you could go for Gotterdammerung, the Gargantuan Gentleman of Gloucester.

Ginny's always gone above and beyond in her endeavors.
