Harry Potter and the Inevitable Future

Always a specky little prat, a rare and fortuitous day had Harry Potter manning up and pulling the twig out of his arse to tie the knot with one Ginevra Weasley. It was horribly awkward, and the two of them popped out thirty-seven nippers and lived happily ever after.

The End.

Blimey. Whoever wrote this's a real tosspot.

[PAUSE. Because... she believed she was a Gawain Weasley once.]

Er, yeah. Gawain. That'll do fine.

[NO.]

Ffionn and Gawaine, then. They'd have loads to live up to with you two as their uncles, you realise.

[Her first thought is you will too but then she remembers the reality of their world. The future she hasn't lived yet but has coped with all these years all the same. It's so easy to forget, some days, because it isn't in her recent memory as actually having happened, but it has and it will. She doesn't know what to say to this, doesn't know how to continue it.

So she tries for a laugh, instead.]

Assuming I'll ever have twins, of course. I rather hope not. Growing up with you two was more than enough for me.

[She doesn't like dwelling on it either, but sometimes the memory and realisation just blindside her out of the blue. Like now. But she's gotten to the point where she can move on without them hanging over her head—at least, she tries.]

I don't sound like that, you tosser.

[But she's laughing.]

Though... I actually rather agree with that last bit.
